About Ben:

I'm currently a hard working enthusiastic stage two Computer Science student in UCD. I've worked in multiple disciplines and have demonstrated a proficiency in listening to my team leaders needs and formulating results. I'm honest, ambitious and have a genuine passion for achieving my set goals. I'm currently seeking an internship so that I can further my skills and knowledge in my chosen field.

I'm currently in a college course that I thoroughly enjoy, it's giving me the skills I need to achieve what I want in the future. The programming and problem solving skills I've learnt are in my opinion invaluable. They enable me to think logically about any problem and solve it accordingly, these skills have helped me in all tasks I've attempted to date.

Avidly interested in graphic, web design and all things technology hence studying Computer Science. Graphics and Web Developer was my role in Octane Racing. We were F1 in Schools Irish National Champions and competed at Worlds Finals in Malaysia, October 2011, my participation in this project sparked my enthusiasm for technology.

Besides education and work, I love sports. Primarily golf, I acted as Junior Captain for Seapoint Golf Club in 2012 and I currently have a playing handicap of 5.

The future hopefully holds many exciting challenges and jobs, the end goal is to hopefully start, develop and run my own technology business. This is something I've set as my goal since my senior years in secondary school.

F1 in Schools is a world wide schools technology competition. I was a member of Octane Racing and we won the 2011 Irish National Finals and represented Ireland at F1 in Schools World Finals 2011, Malaysia.

We placed eleventh position in the world and won Best Website and Best Pit Display.

The competition itself involves designing, building and racing a 1/20th size F1 car made from Balsa wood and 3-D printed components. The competition also involves raising sponsership, creating a web site, portfolio presentation, verbal presentation and a stand to display your work.
